Christine Herrick and her new song, “War of Reality,”

At the VFR Foundation, our mission has always been rooted in honoring the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who serve our communities every single day. That is why we are proud to recognize Christine Herrick and her powerful new song, War of Reality,” as part of our recognition of National VFR Day.

“War of Reality” is more than a song — it is a heartfelt tribute to the emotional and mental battles faced by first responders across America. Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, K9 handlers, and emergency personnel often carry unseen burdens long after the sirens stop. Through moving lyrics and emotional storytelling, Christine Herrick shines a light on the realities many first responders experience while continuing to serve with strength and compassion.

What makes this tribute even more meaningful is that proceeds from the song will help support the VFR Foundation and its partners as we continue our work assisting first responders, K9 programs, scholarships, grants, outreach initiatives, and wellness support programs.

National VFR Day serves as an important reminder that supporting first responders goes far beyond words. It requires action, community involvement, and continued advocacy for the physical and mental well-being of those who answer the call when others need help most.

Through initiatives like the Howling Heroes program, scholarship opportunities, equipment grants, and responder wellness programs, the VFR Foundation remains committed to standing beside those who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Christine Herrick’s “War of Reality” helps amplify that mission through music that connects emotionally with listeners and brings awareness to the challenges first responders face every day.

We encourage our supporters, community members, and first responder families to listen, share, and help spread the message behind this powerful tribute. Together, we can continue building awareness, providing support, and honoring the heroes who sacrifice so much for our communities.
