K9: Nadja – Patrol Explosive Detetction

Dept: United States Air Force, NCOIC of Training & Readiness

Breed: German Shepherd

M/F: Female

Age: 13

Start of Active Duty: 09.01.2012

Retirement Date: 06.15.2019

K9 Nadja served in the United States Air Force as a patrol explosive detection K9 with two deployments to Afghanistan. She conducted over 50 Outside the Wire Counter Improvised Explosive Device route clearance missions; one of these missions resulting in the detection of an IED which kept her handler and his team out of harms way. While deployed, K9 Nadja provided support to the Air Force, Marines, Army, and other coalition forces.

She now enjoys retirement in the mountains of Colorado with plenty of room to stretch her legs in the Pines and Aspens. Her favorite toy is a Kong Wubba! K9 Nadja also enjoys playing with her four legged sister -Koda, camping, and relaxing on the water.
